How the scam works
The page presents itself as "Ledger Live Wallet - Hardware Crypto Wallet | Ledger Live Portfolio," which copies the look of Ledger's own portfolio app. Fake Ledger Live pages like this usually claim the wallet needs to be synced, verified or restored, and then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. A hardware wallet keeps keys safe only while that phrase stays secret. Anyone who types it into a website hands over complete control of every account it secures, and the attacker can empty those accounts from any device without touching the physical Ledger.
Evidence
On 2026-09-21, 12 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data and Kaspersky. That is a modest count, but the detections come from several independent security vendors. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognized Ledger as the brand being imitated. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, so wallet users and crypto security teams were protected independently.
Infrastructure
The page was hosted as a free subdomain on Cloudflare Pages, so the operator did not need to register or pay for a domain and could launch quickly. The hostname resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. It was taken offline about six days after PhishDestroy first detected it, which fits the short lifespan typical of throwaway phishing pages on free hosting.
What to do
If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new seed, ideally after resetting your Ledger or using a fresh device, and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you also connected a software wallet, revoke its token approvals as well. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase online, by email or through support chat, so any page or person requesting it is running a scam. Defenders should block this hostname and watch for similar Pages subdomains that pair misspelled "ledgr" or "wllt" fragments with sign-in words such as "sso."
