PhishDestroy threat report
sonnen-dovonextech.com presented itself as the official website of an AI trading platform. Its page title read "sonnen-dovonex | AI Trading Platform | Official Website." It targeted people looking for automated crypto or investment trading. PhishDestroy first saw the site on 2026-09-19 and classifies it as impersonation phishing. The site went offline on 2026-09-26, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.
Fake AI trading sites promise effortless profits from a supposedly smart trading bot and push visitors to open an account and fund it, usually in crypto. After a deposit, the dashboard tends to show steadily rising balances, which encourages larger top-ups. When victims try to withdraw, they are typically asked for "fees," "taxes" or verification payments, and the money never comes back. Anything entered at signup, such as email, phone number, passwords or identity documents, can also be reused for follow-up scams.
On 2026-09-20, 16 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as malicious. The flagging vendors included BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai and Chong Lua Dao. These are independent vendors that reached the same verdict within a day of our detection. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tracked it as well. PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.
The domain was registered on 2025-12-05 through MainReg Inc., more than nine months before it surfaced as an active phishing page. A gap like this can mean the name was registered in advance and used later. The site was hosted on the Snel.com B.V. network in the Netherlands. Its certificate was a free domain-validated ZeroSSL certificate, so the browser padlock only showed an encrypted connection and said nothing about who ran the site.
If you deposited funds with sonnen-dovonex, stop all further payments, especially any "withdrawal fee" or "unlock" charge, because those payments are the core of the scam. Gather your transaction IDs, receipts and chat logs, and report them to your exchange, your bank and the police. If you reused a password from your signup, change it everywhere and turn on two-factor authentication. Be wary of "recovery" services that contact you, since they often target the same victims again. Security teams should block the domain and treat sonnen-dovonex branding and similarly named lookalike domains as indicators of this campaign.

This report combines saved page captures, registration and network records, scanner results and PhishDestroy reporting history. Each source keeps its own observation date. Open a source report to inspect the original result.
