soft-ledger.org is an impersonation phishing page that borrows the Ledger name to reach owners of Ledger hardware wallets. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-08, and it was still online and serving content when last checked on 2026-10-19. The page title reads "Ledger Restaurant," which does not match a wallet brand, but urlscan.io detected Ledger branding and we classify the site as Ledger impersonation.
How the scam works
Fake Ledger sites usually claim the visitor's device needs a firmware update, a security check or a wallet "sync," then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase or prompt them to connect a wallet. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on a website. Anyone who types those words in hands over full control of every account derived from them. The attacker can then empty the wallet from any device, and the hardware wallet gives no protection once the seed is exposed.
Evidence
Independent sources back the classification. On 2026-10-12, 8 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: CRDF, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, Kaspersky, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That is a modest count, but it includes several major vendors. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and identified Ledger as the imitated brand. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and it appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists as well as PhishDestroy's.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-28 through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu, only ten days before we detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains. The site sits behind Cloudflare, Inc. on a Canada-located address, which hides the actual origin server. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock only shows an encrypted connection and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you entered your recovery phrase on soft-ledger.org, treat that wallet as compromised. Reset your Ledger with a new seed and move any remaining funds to the new addresses at once, before the attacker does. If you connected a wallet or signed anything, review and revoke token approvals with a reputable approval checker. Only manage your device through Ledger's official app. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, enforce Spamhaus DBL listings, and warn users that no legitimate service ever asks for a recovery phrase.
