smartgfohub.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as GFO-X, a digital-asset derivatives brand. Its browser title reads simply "GFO-X", and the domain wraps the brand's initials in generic "smart" and "hub" padding. It targets crypto traders and investors who expect to reach the real platform. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23, and it was still online with live content on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Sites like this copy the look and name of a trusted trading venue so visitors believe they are on the official platform. The victim is then pushed to sign in, register, deposit funds or connect a crypto wallet. Credentials typed into the page go straight to the operators, and deposits sent to addresses the page shows cannot be recovered. A wallet connection can also be used to request signatures or token approvals that let the attacker move assets.
Evidence
Seven of 91 VirusTotal engines classified the domain as malicious when checked on 2026-10-03: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That is a minority of engines, so many security tools may still let the page load. The wallet-focused blocklists matter more here. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance both list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. It also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-22 through Cloudflare, Inc. and was already serving its GFO-X clone a day later, a turnaround typical of disposable phishing domains. Traffic passes through Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which conceals the actual origin server. The Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a padlock icon, but it only proves the connection is encrypted, not that the site is legitimate.
What to do
Do not log in, deposit or connect a wallet on smartgfohub.com. If you entered a password, change it on the genuine platform and on any account that reuses it, and turn on app-based 2FA. If you sent funds, keep the transaction hashes and report them to the legitimate service and to law enforcement, and ignore any "recovery" offers that follow. If you connected a wallet, revoke the approvals granted during that session with a token-approval checker, and move remaining assets to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not understand. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike GFO-X domains registered around the same time.
