skinscheck.com presented itself as "Fortnite Rank & Locker Value Checker – Free Tool", a lure aimed at Fortnite players curious what their skins and cosmetics are worth. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-14. The site went offline on 2026-09-18, and when we last checked on 2026-10-19 its DNS was inactive.
How the scam works
Locker value checkers are a long-running bait in the Fortnite scene. A player is promised a free valuation of their rank and locker, then asked to sign in with their Fortnite account so the tool can supposedly read their inventory. The sign-in form is fake and passes the username, password and sometimes a 2FA code straight to the operators. A hijacked account can lose its rare skins, its V-Bucks balance and any saved payment methods, and it is often resold.
Evidence
VirusTotal recorded 5 detections out of 89 engines on 2026-09-18, from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, SOCRadar and Webroot. That is a modest number, but it comes from five independent vendors that agree with our verdict. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Among blocklists, only PhishDestroy lists it, so many browsers and filters will not have warned visitors.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-09-05, nine days before we detected it. It stopped resolving only four days after detection. That short life fits a throwaway domain built for a single campaign. The site was hosted at 46.29.26.38 on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network in Turkey.
What to do
If you signed in on this site, change your Fortnite account password right away. Change it anywhere else you reused it, then turn on two-factor authentication. Review your account's linked platforms, active sessions, email address and purchase history for changes you did not make. If you lost access or see unfamiliar purchases, contact Fortnite support and your card issuer.
