Overview

safepalbrokerageasset.com was a phishing site posing as SafePal, the crypto wallet brand, and aimed at people who hold assets in SafePal wallets. Its page title, "safepalclaimreward - Home", shows the lure: a supposed SafePal reward waiting to be claimed. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-08-27. It went offline on 2026-09-08, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake reward pages like this borrow a wallet brand's name and promise an airdrop, bonus or payout to anyone who claims it. To "claim", the visitor is pushed to type in a recovery phrase or private key, or to connect a wallet and sign a transaction. A recovery phrase gives the attacker full control of every account behind it. A signed approval can let them move tokens out of the wallet. The domain name adds a second hook, using "brokerage" and "asset" to make the page sound like an official SafePal service. Either way, the victim can lose the entire wallet balance, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed.

Evidence

On 2026-09-06, 14 of 90 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as malicious. They include Google Safe Browsing, Kaspersky, BitDefender, Fortinet, G-Data, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and CyRadar. Google Safe Browsing listed it as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, so Chrome and other browsers that use that service showed visitors a warning. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses and on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com. It sat behind Cloudflare, with an edge address that geolocates to Canada, so the real origin server was hidden. The site stayed live for only about twelve days after PhishDestroy first detected it, a short lifespan typical of disposable phishing domains that are dropped once blocklists catch up.

What to do

If you entered a SafePal recovery phrase or private key on this site, treat that wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase and move any remaining funds to it right away. If you only connected a wallet or signed a transaction, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions granted around that time. Remember that SafePal will never ask for your recovery phrase to release a reward. Security teams should block the domain and look for lookalike SafePal "claim" or "brokerage" domains in DNS and proxy logs.
