PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

roblhooudepu.com posed as Robinhood, the trading and crypto app, and presented itself under the page title "Robinhood". The misspelled domain mimics the brand name closely enough to pass a quick glance in a link or search result. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-11. The site went offline on 2026-09-18, and when we checked it on 2026-10-19 its DNS was inactive.

How the scam works

Phishing sites that copy Robinhood show a sign-in screen that looks like the real one. They ask for the email, password and often the one-time 2FA code. Everything typed there goes to the operators, who can log into the real account right away and sell positions, withdraw balances or move crypto out before the owner notices. A look-alike domain with the brand's own name in the tab title is the main tool that makes the lure believable.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 10 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Detections came from ChainPatrol, alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and LevelBlue, a mix of crypto-focused and general security vendors. Beyond PhishDestroy, the domain is listed by MetaMask and SEAL, so wallet users get warnings from tools they already run. Spamhaus DBL lists it in its spam category, and three AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-06-10, about three months before PhishDestroy caught it. That gap suggests it was held in reserve or used quietly before it surfaced. It was hosted on Yancy Limited's network in Hong Kong. The site was dead within a week of first detection.

What to do

If you entered Robinhood credentials on this site, change your Robinhood password at once and also on any other service where you reused it. Then reset 2FA so that any code you gave away is useless. Review your Robinhood account for unfamiliar logins, orders, linked bank changes or withdrawals, and contact Robinhood support right away if you see any. If you typed a wallet recovery phrase anywhere on the page, treat that wallet as compromised and move its funds to a new one. Security teams should block the domain, search mail and proxy logs for visits since 2026-06-10, and alert users who may have clicked Robinhood-themed links.
