PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ristoranti.subitoweb.it is a restaurant-themed subdomain ("ristoranti" is Italian for restaurants) that PhishDestroy classifies as an impersonation phishing page aimed at an Italian-speaking audience. We first flagged it on 2026-09-17. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and redirecting visitors elsewhere, so the threat is current.

How the scam works

Impersonation pages copy the look and wording of a service people already trust, then ask for account credentials, contact details or payment information under a believable pretext such as a reservation, an order or an account check. Anything typed into the form goes straight to the operator, who can use it to take over accounts or commit fraud. The page currently shows the title "503 Service Unavailable", a server error, while we classify the site as an impersonation phishing page. Because the site is redirecting, where it sends visitors can change from one visit to the next.

Evidence

Five of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain in a scan on 2026-10-01: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and desenmascara.me. That is a modest count, but five unrelated vendors reaching the same verdict independently supports the classification. So far, PhishDestroy's own blocklist is the only blocklist listing it, so many browsers and filters may not warn users yet.

Infrastructure

The parent domain subitoweb.it was registered on 2011-10-31 through Centralnic Group Ltd, nearly fifteen years before we detected the phishing subdomain. This is not a freshly registered throwaway domain, and its long history may make the subdomain look more trustworthy to visitors and filters. The site is hosted at 217.154.0.104 in Germany and uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

If you entered a password on this site, change it immediately on the real service and anywhere else you reuse it, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you entered card or banking details, contact your bank to block the card and dispute any unfamiliar charges. Treat follow-up emails, texts or calls that mention a booking or account issue as suspicious. Defenders should block the subdomain and its hosting IP, and search mail and proxy logs for users who reached it after 2026-09-17.
