How the scam works

The page title, "Online Spelen & Snelle Uitbetalingen" (online play and fast payouts), sets the hook: a familiar casino brand, a local .nl address and the promise that winnings arrive quickly. Fraudulent casinos of this kind accept deposits, often in crypto, and show a growing balance. Withdrawals are then stalled, blocked by sudden verification demands, or made conditional on extra deposits or "fees". Victims lose everything they deposited, and anyone who uploads ID documents for "verification" also hands over material that can be used for identity fraud.

Twelve of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-23. They include crypto-focused ChainPatrol alongside BitDefender, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai, a broad mix of vendors that reached the same verdict independently. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL as phishing. MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users should get a warning before the page loads. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot LLC on 2026-07-09, about ten weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That is a short lifespan for something claiming to be an established casino brand. The site sits behind Cloudflare, with the edge address geolocated to Canada. This hides the real origin server and says nothing about where the operators are. Its certificate comes from Google Trust Services, so a padlock in the browser offers no assurance about who runs the site.

What to do

Do not deposit or send further funds, and ignore any request to pay a fee, tax or extra deposit to unlock a withdrawal. If you already paid, collect transaction IDs, payment receipts and chat logs, then report them to your bank or card issuer and to the police. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse and consider alerting your bank. Change the password you used here wherever else you reuse it. Defenders should block rainbetnl.nl at DNS and proxy level and watch for lookalike Rainbet domains registered through the same patterns.
