PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

prioritymailpost.com poses as the United States Postal Service and borrows the familiar "Priority Mail" name. It targets people who are waiting for a parcel or who receive an unexpected delivery notice. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-16, the same day the domain was registered. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content.

How the scam works

Fake USPS sites are usually reached through a text message or email claiming a package is on hold because of an incomplete address or an unpaid fee. The victim is sent to a lookalike tracking or redelivery page that asks for a name, home address, phone number and a small payment. The fee is only the bait. The real loss is the full card number, expiry date and security code, plus personal details later reused for fraud or follow-up scams. When we scanned the page, its title read "403 Forbidden," while urlscan.io and our own analysis classified the site as USPS impersonation.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and identified USPS branding on it. On 2026-09-30, 4 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged it: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is low, so many browsers and security tools may still let the page load without a warning. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-16 through PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com, and it was already active when we caught it that same day. That is typical of short-lived delivery-scam domains, which are created and used within hours. It is hosted on FranTech Solutions in the US, at 198.251.81.14. The free Let's Encrypt certificate gives the site a browser padlock, which proves nothing about who runs it.

What to do

If you entered card details on this site, call your bank now to cancel the card and dispute any charges, including small "redelivery" fees. If you gave your address, phone number or date of birth, expect convincing follow-up texts and calls, and consider a fraud alert with the credit bureaus. Check real delivery status only by typing the carrier's official address yourself, and never through a link in a message. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, and search mail and SMS gateway logs for messages that point to it.
