How the scam works
Fake audit pages create a sense of obligation. The visitor is told their account or wallet must pass a review, and is then walked through steps that collect passwords, one-time codes, recovery phrases or private keys. Once those are entered, the operators can sign in as the victim or sweep the wallet directly, and stolen crypto is effectively unrecoverable. The "Audit Process" title fits this pattern: it borrows the authority of a mandatory compliance step that no legitimate platform runs through an unfamiliar domain like this one.
Evidence
On 2026-09-25, VirusTotal showed 14 of 91 engines flagging the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Kaspersky, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and alphaMountain.ai. Agreement among that many established vendors is a strong signal, although most engines still had not caught up. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers have tied it to malicious activity independently. Among public blocklists, only PhishDestroy lists it so far.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2025-11-11, about ten months before it was detected. That gap is consistent with an aged domain held in reserve so it would not look brand-new when the campaign started. Traffic is served through Cloudflare, Inc. from an address located in Canada, which hides the real origin server. The site uses a certificate from Google Trust Services, so the browser padlock only shows an encrypted connection and says nothing about whether the operator is legitimate.
What to do
If you went through the audit and entered a password or 2FA code, change that password immediately and reset two-factor authentication on the affected account, and do the same for any other account that shares the password. If you typed a recovery phrase or private key, assume the wallet is compromised and move any remaining funds to a new wallet created with a fresh phrase. Do not go back to finish the audit, and ignore any follow-up messages asking you to do so. Defenders should block overrixabove.info at DNS and proxy level and check logs for users who visited it after 2026-09-14.
