PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

omni.variatuional.io is an impersonation phishing page aimed at cryptocurrency users. urlscan.io matched its content to a generic crypto brand template rather than one named project. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-13. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16, and our last check on 2026-10-19 found its content blocked by the hosting provider.

How the scam works

Crypto impersonation pages copy the look of a familiar wallet, dApp or platform. They then push the visitor to act: connect a wallet, sign a transaction, type in a recovery phrase, or log in. Each of these hands the operator something valuable, whether that is control of the wallet, a token approval that lets funds be swept, or account credentials. The page title we captured was "Just a moment...", which is the text of a browser-check interstitial, while the page content itself was classified as crypto impersonation.

Evidence

Five of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-13: ChainPatrol, Chong Lua Dao, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is modest, but two of those vendors specialise in crypto and Vietnamese anti-scam reporting, which fits this kind of lure. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict, and Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. PhishDestroy carries it on our blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-11 through GNAME.COM PTE. LTD. and was already serving phishing content when we caught it two days later. That short gap is typical of throwaway domains spun up for a single campaign. It ran behind Cloudflare, Inc., resolving to an address geolocated in Canada, so the origin server stayed hidden from visitors.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to this site, review and revoke any token approvals or permissions you granted, and move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. If you typed a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer funds out immediately using a clean device. If you entered a password for any crypto service, change it and reset your two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain and its parent at DNS and proxy level and search logs for visits since 2026-08-11.
