PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

PhishDestroy’s automated assessment classified okex-cn.hl.cn as an impersonation phishing page that pretends to be the OKEx exchange. The assessment was triggered because VirusTotal reported four malicious detections on 2026-10-23, including phishing labels from alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet and Webroot. The recorded page title captured on 2026-10-23 reads “恭喜，站点创建成功！”. PhishDestroy first observed the domain on 2026-10-23.

How the scam works

Impersonation phishing sites copy the look and language of legitimate services to trick users into entering login credentials, two‑factor codes or other sensitive data. Submitted information can be used by attackers to hijack accounts and potentially withdraw funds from the victim’s real OKEx account.

Evidence

VirusTotal scanned the domain on 2026-10-23 and returned four malicious detections out of 92 engines, with alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet and Webroot flagging it as phishing or malicious. Google Safe Browsing checked the same day and did not flag the URL. URLScan captured the site on 2026-10-14 and again on 2026-10-23; its engine verdict marked the URL as malicious with a score of 100, while the overall verdict was clean. Spamhaus DBL listed the domain as phishing on 2026-10-23, OTX recorded four pulses referencing it, and external blocklists MetaMask and SEAL also contain the domain; PhishDestroy has it on its internal blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was created eight days before the first capture and resolves to IP 82.41.66.136, which belongs to OWGELS INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED in Hong Kong (ASN 153656). TLS 1.3 is used with a certificate issued by LiteSSL RSA CA 2025 on 2026-10-13, valid until 2027-01-11, and the server header reports nginx with an HSTS header of max‑age=31536000. Authoritative nameservers are ns1.kenpains.com and ns2.kenpains.com, and DNSSEC was not observed.
