PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

official-trezensuite.wixstudio.com is an impersonation phishing page built on a free Wix Studio subdomain. Its name passes itself off as an "official" Trezor Suite site, the desktop and web app that Trezor hardware wallet owners use to manage their coins. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-30. As of 2026-10-19 the host was still online and answering with a redirect.

How the scam works

Fake Trezor Suite pages usually tell visitors their wallet needs to be "verified," "synced" or "updated." They then ask the visitor to type in the 12-, 18- or 24-word recovery phrase, or to download a tampered copy of the app. Anyone who has the recovery phrase can rebuild the wallet on their own device and empty it, and the theft cannot be reversed. The page currently shows a German Wix Studio "404 Fehler: Seite nicht gefunden" title, a page-not-found error, while we classify the subdomain as Trezor impersonation.

Evidence

Three blocklists list this subdomain. Besides PhishDestroy, it appears on MetaMask's phishing list and SEAL's list, which crypto wallets and security teams rely on directly. VirusTotal detection is still thin: a 2026-10-11 scan found 4 of 92 engines flagging it, namely alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, LevelBlue and Webroot. Do not read the low count as a sign the site is safe. Phishing pages hosted on reputable site builders often slip past generic scanners.

Infrastructure

The 2016-12-17 registration date and the GoDaddy.com, LLC registrar belong to the parent wixstudio.com domain, which Wix uses for customer sites. They say nothing about when the operator set up this page. Traffic is served from Cloudflare, Inc. address space geolocated to Canada. That means the scammer only needed a free website-builder account to borrow a trusted-looking address, with no domain purchase at all.

What to do

If you entered your Trezor recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Immediately set up a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase on your device and move all remaining funds to it. If you downloaded software from this page, uninstall it, scan the machine, and get Trezor Suite only from Trezor's own channels. Remember that no legitimate Trezor service ever asks you to type your recovery phrase into a website. Defenders should block the subdomain in DNS and web filters and report it to Wix for removal.
