PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

novatrustglobal.org is an impersonation phishing site built to pass as an online banking service. urlscan.io matched it to a generic banking brand template rather than one named bank, which suggests a made-up institution with a trustworthy-sounding name. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-07. The site has been offline since 2026-09-20, and its DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake banks like this give the victim an account portal that looks real, then collect login details, identity information and sometimes payment data under the pretext of opening or verifying an account. Some also ask for "activation" or "release" deposits before funds can be accessed, so the victim's money goes straight to the operators. The page served the title "Bot Verification", an anti-bot check screen, while our classification rests on its banking impersonation content.

Evidence

On 2026-09-18, VirusTotal showed 9 of 89 security engines flagging the domain. Vendors in that group included ESET, Netcraft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and VIPRE. That is a minority of engines, but it covers established phishing specialists and several independent intelligence feeds. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it independently alongside the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2026-09-05, just two days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a single campaign. It was hosted on the PONYNET network operated by FranTech Solutions, with the server geolocated to Luxembourg. The site was live for under two weeks after detection before going dark.

What to do

If you entered a username and password on this site, change them immediately wherever you reuse them and enable two-factor authentication. If you shared card numbers, bank details or identity documents, contact your real bank, ask them to block or reissue affected cards, and watch your statements and credit file for unfamiliar activity. Do not send any further "verification" or "unlock" payments to anyone connected to this site, and report any money already sent to your bank and local police. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting address, search mail and proxy logs for visits since 2026-09-05, and reset credentials for any user who reached the page.
