PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

nexusdigitap.com operated as a seed phrase theft page, presenting itself as a TRON USDT spending service under the name NexusPay. It targeted cryptocurrency holders, particularly those holding or transacting USDT on the TRON network. PhishDestroy first identified it on 2026-09-17, just nine days after the domain was registered. The site went offline on 2026-09-18 and remained dead as of the last check on 2026-10-17.

How the scam works

The page title — NexusPay — Spend your TRON USDT for 1.5% — lured victims with the promise of a low-fee USDT payment service. Once engaged, the site prompted users to enter their wallet seed phrase, the master key that grants complete and irrevocable access to a crypto wallet. Anyone who submitted their seed phrase handed full control of their funds to the attackers, who could then drain every asset in the wallet at any time. The page title describes a payment service rather than a wallet interface, which differs from the seed phrase theft classification; the underlying mechanism, however, is seed phrase harvesting regardless of the stated service.

Evidence

Detection coverage was limited at the time of checking: only 1 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, with SOCRadar as the sole vendor. Despite the low automated-scanner count, the domain was added to three blocklists — PhishDestroy, MetaMask, and SEAL — providing meaningful independent confirmation of malicious intent. Four OTX threat-intelligence pulses further corroborate the classification.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-08 through Cloudflare, Inc., giving the operators only a nine-day window before PhishDestroy detected it. It was hosted on Cloudflare's network at an IP within CLOUDFLARENET in the United States. The TLS certificate was issued by Google Trust Services under the WE1 intermediate, lending the site a superficial appearance of legitimacy.
