Overview

mymovies.fi presents itself as MyMovies, a Finnish-language store for DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K UHD films and TV boxes. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-09-20. Its audience is Finnish shoppers looking for physical media and streaming hardware. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

The page title, "DVD Blu-ray 4K UHD Elokuvat ja TV-boksit | MyMovies", reads like an ordinary retail catalogue, and that familiarity is what an impersonation page relies on. Shoppers browse products, then are asked to create an account, log in or pay at checkout. Names, addresses, login credentials and card details entered there can be captured, and orders may never arrive. The title shows a conventional movie retailer, while our classification treats the site as impersonation.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin. On 2026-10-02, 3 of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft and VIPRE. PhishDestroy is the only blocklist currently listing it. The domain also appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers have tracked it. The low engine count means most browsers and security tools will not warn visitors yet.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2018-11-27 through the Finnish registrar NettiKari Oy, almost eight years before PhishDestroy flagged it. An address that old avoids the newly-registered-domain checks many filters apply. It is hosted on UpCloud Ltd in Finland, which matches the Finnish-language storefront and its local audience.

If you created an account there, change that password everywhere you reused it and turn on two-factor authentication on your email.
