Overview

limanfinthra-pro.com is a fake crypto exchange that presented itself as "Liman Finthra | AI Trading Platform | Official Website". It targeted people looking for automated, AI-driven crypto trading returns. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-09-14. The site has been offline since 2026-09-22 and its DNS no longer resolves as of 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake trading platforms like this one promise effortless gains from an AI trading engine and invite visitors to open an account and deposit cryptocurrency. The dashboard then shows fabricated profits to encourage larger deposits. When the victim tries to withdraw, the platform demands extra fees or taxes, or it freezes the account. Deposited funds go straight to the operators and cannot be recovered through the platform. Victims may also hand over identity documents and contact details that can later be reused for follow-up "recovery" scams.

Evidence

On 2026-09-16, VirusTotal showed 17 of 89 engines flagging the domain. The flagging vendors included alphaMountain.ai, Bfore.Ai PreCrime, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and Fortinet. The domain appears in 5 AlienVault OTX pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-02-15 through MainReg Inc., seven months before PhishDestroy detected it. It was hosted at 185.62.57.48 on the Snel.com B.V. network in the Netherlands. Its TLS certificate came from ZeroSSL GmbH (ZeroSSL ECC DV SSL CA 2), a domain-validated certificate that confirms only control of the domain, not the legitimacy of the business.

What to do

If you deposited funds on this platform, stop sending money, including any "withdrawal fee" or "tax" requests, because these are part of the scam. Record your transaction hashes, deposit addresses and any chats, then report the case to your local police and to the exchange you sent the funds from. Be wary of anyone who later offers to recover your money, since recovery scams commonly follow these schemes. If you uploaded ID documents, watch for identity misuse and change any password you reused on the site. Defenders should block the domain and the IP 185.62.57.48. They should also hunt for lookalike "Liman Finthra" domains and check logs for past connections to this host.
