Overview

ledgrr-live-deskktop.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page posing as Ledger Live Desktop, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets. The misspelled name, with a doubled "r" in Ledger and a doubled "k" in desktop, is built to pass a quick glance from Ledger owners searching for the app. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-08. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16 after the hosting provider blocked it, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page carried the title "Ledger Live Desktop - Dark Mode Guide", which presents it as a harmless help article rather than a login or download page. Our classification is impersonation phishing. Fake Ledger Live pages of this kind typically push a counterfeit download or a "sync" or "recovery" step that asks for the 24-word recovery phrase. Anyone who types that phrase hands over full control of every account the hardware wallet secures, and the funds can be moved at once without the physical device.

Evidence

When VirusTotal scanned it on 2026-09-18, 7 of 89 engines flagged the address. Those were alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Kaspersky and LevelBlue. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated security vendors. The domain also appears on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy's own, so wallet users and crypto security teams were warned through more than one channel.

Infrastructure

The site ran as a free Cloudflare Pages project, served from Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada. The creation date listed for the project is 2026-09-15, a week after PhishDestroy's first sighting on 2026-09-08. The page went dark the following day, 2026-09-16, a short lifespan that is typical of throwaway phishing pages on free hosting. Its Google Trust Services certificate only means the padlock was present and says nothing about legitimacy.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or reset it with a fresh phrase, then move any remaining funds to new addresses immediately. If you downloaded and ran anything from the site, remove it and scan the computer before using any wallet on it again. Remember that Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase, and Ledger Live should only come from Ledger's official site. Defenders should block the pages.dev subdomain and watch for typo variants of "ledger live desktop" on free hosting platforms.
