PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledgerr-live-us-desktop.pages.dev is a phishing page that impersonates Ledger. The doubled "r" and the "live-us-desktop" wording are built to pass for a regional download page for Ledger Live, so its targets are Ledger hardware wallet owners looking for the desktop app. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. It has been offline since 2026-09-12 and was still dead on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually take one of two routes. Some show a "sync", "update" or "restore" screen that asks for the 24-word recovery phrase. Others offer a counterfeit desktop installer that later prompts for that phrase. Whoever holds the recovery phrase can rebuild the wallet on any device and empty it, so the victim loses everything secured by that Ledger. The page now shows the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is the hosting provider's warning page and not the original lure, while our classification describes the content as Ledger impersonation.

Evidence

On 2026-09-13, 8 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Kaspersky, LevelBlue and Sophos. That is a modest count, but it comes from several major security vendors. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and detected Ledger branding on the page. The domain is also listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy.

Infrastructure

The site was set up on Cloudflare Pages on 2025-09-29, about eleven months before PhishDestroy flagged it. A free subdomain with a brand-like name is a cheap, disposable way to run a lure like this. It resolved to Cloudflare, Inc. network space geolocated to Canada and used a Google Trust Services certificate. That padlock only shows the connection was encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is legitimate. Cloudflare has since blocked the content.

What to do

If you typed your recovery phrase into this page or into an app downloaded from it, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new phrase on a reset device right away and move your funds there. If you downloaded an installer, do not run it, and scan or reinstall the affected computer. Install Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site; Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase. If you connected a software wallet, review and revoke any token approvals granted during the visit. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar misspelled Ledger lookalikes on free hosting subdomains.
