Overview

ledger-srt-us.pages.dev is an impersonation phishing page built to look like Ledger's onboarding portal. It is aimed at people setting up a new Ledger hardware wallet or reinstalling Ledger software. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-11 after the hosting provider blocked its content, and it was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page title, "Ledger Start — Official Setup & First Steps," copies the wording of Ledger's real setup flow so that a new owner feels they are in the right place. Fake setup pages like this usually walk the visitor through convincing steps until they ask for the 24-word recovery phrase. Some versions instead push a counterfeit Ledger Live download. Anyone who types their phrase hands over full control of the wallet, and the attacker can empty it from any device without touching the hardware. Ledger never asks for a recovery phrase on a website, so a page that does is always a scam.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the page malicious and recognised Ledger branding on it. The domain also appears on the PhishDestroy, MetaMask and SEAL blocklists, which are three independent crypto-security feeds. VirusTotal tells a different story: none of its 89 engines flagged the page on 2026-09-11. That gap is common with short-lived wallet phishing, so a clean antivirus result here does not mean the site was safe.

Infrastructure

The page was published as a free Cloudflare Pages project, so the attacker never had to register a domain of their own. That makes such sites quick to launch and easy to replace. Traffic was served from Cloudflare, Inc. address space located in Canada. The "srt-us" naming suggests a regional variant of a Ledger start page, and other look-alike subdomains may follow the same pattern. The site lasted eleven days between first detection and going offline.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up a new device or reset your Ledger with a brand-new phrase, then move any remaining funds to the new addresses immediately. If you installed software from the site, uninstall it, scan the computer, and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official channels. If you only browsed the page without typing anything, no action is needed beyond staying alert. Security teams should block the domain, keep watching for similar Ledger-themed subdomains on free hosting platforms, and report new ones to the hosting provider.
