PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

ledger-lve.pages.dev is a phishing page that imitates Ledger Live, the companion app for Ledger hardware wallets. The name drops the letter i from "Live", a small typo that is easy to miss in a link or search result. It targets Ledger owners. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31. The site has been offline since 2026-09-17, its content is blocked by the hosting provider, and it was still down when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page presents itself as "Ledger Live — Secure Crypto Management App". Fake Ledger Live pages typically claim the wallet needs a sync, an update or a security check, then ask the visitor to type in their 24-word recovery phrase or to install a counterfeit copy of the app. Anyone who has the recovery phrase controls the wallet outright, so the funds can be emptied without the physical device ever being touched. The page title also includes the words "Demo Template", but we classified the site by the Ledger impersonation it served on this lookalike name.

Evidence

Six of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-14: alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Kaspersky and LevelBlue. That is a modest count, but it comes from several unrelated security vendors. The domain is also listed by MetaMask and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, so wallet users can be warned before the page even loads.

Infrastructure

The site ran as a free Cloudflare Pages subdomain, served from Cloudflare's network with a Canadian geolocation and a certificate from Google Trust Services. That padlock came automatically with the platform and says nothing about legitimacy. The subdomain was created on 2025-11-08, nearly ten months before we detected it. Throwaway subdomains like this are quick to replace, so similar Ledger-themed names may appear on the same kind of hosting.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase on this page, treat the wallet as compromised. Set up a new Ledger wallet with a freshly generated phrase and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you downloaded anything from the site, uninstall it, scan the device, and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site. Ledger never asks for your recovery phrase, through its app, website or support staff. Defenders should block this subdomain, watch for misspellings of Ledger and Ledger Live on free hosting platforms, and report new lookalikes to the platform provider.
