PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

This Cloudflare Pages site impersonates Ledger. Its address mimics Ledger Live desktop, with the brand split as "li-ve" and "cloud" added to suggest an official download or sync service. It targets owners of Ledger hardware wallets. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-08-31, it has been offline since 2026-09-11, and it was still blocked by the provider at the last check on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake Ledger Live pages usually push a bogus app update, a "cloud backup" or a sync error, and then ask for the 24-word recovery phrase or offer a trojanized installer. Ledger never asks for that phrase. Anyone who types it in gives the attacker the whole wallet, and the funds can be swept to addresses the attacker controls without the physical device. The page now shows the title "Suspected Phishing | Cloudflare", which is Cloudflare's warning interstitial and not the original Ledger lure we classified.

Evidence

On 2026-09-12, 5 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the site: alphaMountain.ai, Emsisoft, Fortinet, Netcraft and Webroot. That is a modest count, but the vendors include a phishing-takedown specialist and several web-filtering engines. The domain is also listed by MetaMask and SEAL alongside PhishDestroy, so a wallet vendor and a security community have confirmed it independently. Cloudflare itself has blocked the content.

Infrastructure

The subdomain was created on Cloudflare Pages on 2025-09-26, about eleven months before PhishDestroy flagged it. The gap suggests the operators set it up well in advance or reused it. Traffic resolves to Cloudflare, Inc. address space, geolocated to Canada. A free pages.dev subdomain lets operators spin up branded lookalikes quickly, which is why one takedown rarely ends a campaign like this.

What to do

If you entered your Ledger recovery phrase here, treat that wallet as compromised. Set up the device with a new phrase and move any remaining assets to the fresh accounts at once. If you downloaded software from this site, uninstall it, scan the machine, and get Ledger Live only from Ledger's official site. Review recent transactions, and revoke token approvals on affected accounts with a reputable approval checker. Defenders should block the domain and watch for sibling pages.dev hostnames that combine "ledger", "live" and "desktop".
