kurabiedes.com is an impersonation phishing page that copies AR24, the French electronic registered-mail service used by businesses and individuals to send legally binding letters. Its page is titled "Accuser la réception du courrier 876650341 - AR24", which means "Acknowledge receipt of mail 876650341". It targets French-speaking people who expect, or fear, an official letter. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05, and on 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.
How the scam works
The lure relies on the weight of a registered letter. A victim receives a message claiming a recommandé is waiting, with a reference number that looks official, and is told to confirm receipt. Pages of this kind usually ask the visitor to log in, verify their identity or pay a small handling fee before the letter is "released". Whatever the victim types, whether email credentials, personal details or card data, goes straight to the operators. The fake tracking number in the title is there to make the request look routine and urgent.
Evidence
On 2026-09-18, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as malicious. Those engines include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Lionic. These are independent vendors with separate detection pipelines, so their agreement is meaningful even though many engines have not yet caught up. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses and is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2019-04-09 through PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com, more than seven years before it was detected serving this lure. Its name has no connection to AR24. That mismatch is a quick tell for anyone checking the address bar. The site is hosted at Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany, not on infrastructure associated with the brand it imitates. A free Let's Encrypt certificate supplies the padlock, so the padlock alone proves nothing about who runs the page.
What to do
If you entered a password on this page, change it right away, along with any account that shares it, and turn on two-factor authentication. If you entered card details, call your bank to block the card and dispute any charges. Treat any later message about a pending recommandé with suspicion and check it by signing in to AR24 directly, never through a link. Security teams should block the domain and its hosting IP 157.90.184.166 at mail and web gateways. They should also search inbound mail for AR24-themed notices and warn French-speaking staff about fake registered-mail lures.
