As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving content. Its page title reads "Kraken сайт городских услуг slon4at для жителей Москвы", which translates as "Kraken city services site slon4at for Moscow residents." That title describes a local services portal, while our classification is impersonation of the Kraken brand.
How the scam works
Impersonation pages like this one use a trusted brand name in the domain and page title so visitors assume they have reached a legitimate service. The visitor is then pushed to sign in or hand over account details, and anything typed on the page goes to the operators. With a valid login and any one-time codes, an attacker can take over the real account, move balances out, or reuse the password on other services. Searchers who look for Kraken in Russian and click a lookalike link are the most likely victims.
Evidence
Ten of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-07. The flagging vendors include BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, CRDF and alphaMountain.ai. Spamhaus lists it in its DBL with a phishing designation, so mail filters that use that list will block links to it. Four AlienVault OTX pulses reference the domain, which means other researchers have tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-06-12 through REGRU-RU, about 105 days before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either kept in reserve or ran quietly before anyone flagged it. Although the domain uses the Russian .ru zone, it is hosted in the United States on a network operated by Tornado Datacenter GmbH & Co. KG. The free Let's Encrypt certificate only encrypts the connection, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is genuine.
What to do
If you entered a Kraken username, password or 2FA code on this site, sign in to Kraken directly and change your password right away. Then reset your two-factor authentication, review active sessions and API keys, and check recent withdrawals and address-book entries. Change the same password on any other service where you used it, and contact Kraken support if you see activity you did not make. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxies and add it to mail filtering. They should also watch for other lookalike domains that combine "kraken" with Russian-language service wording.
