kegwebsite.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself under the name KXEG and copies the look of a legitimate service to win visitors' trust. Its appearance on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists shows it targets crypto users, particularly people who hold assets in browser wallets. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-01. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.
How the scam works
Pages like this copy a real project's branding, here shown as KXEG in the browser tab, so the visitor believes they are on the official site. The page then prompts the visitor to connect a wallet, sign a transaction, or type in a recovery phrase or login details. Anything entered or signed goes to the operators. A seed phrase gives them full control of the wallet, and a signed approval can let them move tokens without asking again. Victims usually do not notice until their balances have been drained.
Evidence
Several independent sources back the phishing classification. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL under the phishing category. MetaMask and SEAL, both focused on wallet security, block it alongside PhishDestroy. On VirusTotal, 5 of 92 engines flagged it as of 2026-10-16: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That count is low, so a clean result from most scanners does not mean the site is safe. Five AlienVault OTX threat pulses also reference the domain.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Gandi SAS on 2026-05-06, almost four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was registered in advance and activated later, which can help a domain avoid filters that distrust newly created names. Traffic resolves to 188.114.97.3 on Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada. Because Cloudflare acts as a proxy, this address hides the real origin server. The certificate is a free Let's Encrypt one, so the padlock in the address bar says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this site, use a token-approval checker to revoke any permissions it requested, then move your funds to a new wallet. If you typed a seed phrase, assume the wallet is compromised and transfer everything to a wallet with a newly generated phrase immediately. If you entered a password, change it everywhere you reuse it and turn on two-factor authentication. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level, watch logs for past visits, and report it to Cloudflare and Gandi so the content can be taken down.
