Overview

inregisterworkshop.com is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as Shopee, the e-commerce marketplace, under a domain name with no connection to the brand. It targets Shopee buyers and sellers who reach it through a link rather than the official app or site. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-09-17. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its phishing content.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "Shopee" and mimics the marketplace's look so a visitor believes they are on a genuine Shopee screen. Pages like this usually arrive through messages about an order problem, a refund, a prize or a seller account check. They then ask for a phone number or email, the account password, one-time verification codes, and sometimes card details. With those, the operators can take over the Shopee account, spend any linked wallet balance or saved payment methods, and reuse the stolen card data elsewhere.

Evidence

urlscan.io rated the site malicious and recognized Shopee branding on the page, which matches our classification. On VirusTotal, 18 of 91 security engines flagged the domain as of 2026-09-25, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Emsisoft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Ermes. Detection by that many established vendors makes a false positive unlikely. The domain also appears in 5 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, and PhishDestroy lists it on its blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-09-10 through Gransy, s.r.o., and was already running as a Shopee lure when PhishDestroy detected it seven days later. A short gap like this is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a single campaign. The site is hosted on the Netsec Limited network in Hong Kong. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about whether the site is really Shopee.

What to do

If you entered your Shopee login here, change the password right away in the official Shopee app, and change it on any other service where you used the same one. Then turn on or reset two-factor authentication and sign out of all other sessions. If you typed in card details or a verification code, call your bank to block the card and dispute any charges. Check your Shopee order history, saved addresses and payout settings for changes you did not make. Security teams should block the domain and the Hong Kong hosting address, and search mail and SMS gateways for links pointing to it.
