PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

groktrade.org presented itself as a token bridge under the title "Bridge to Arbitrum". It targets users who want to move assets onto Arbitrum, even though the domain name has nothing to do with Arbitrum. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-02 and classifies it as impersonation phishing. The site has been offline since 2026-09-13, and its DNS was still inactive when we last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Fake bridge pages copy the look of a legitimate cross-chain transfer tool and ask visitors to connect a wallet to "bridge" their funds. The transaction or signature the victim approves does not route assets to Arbitrum. It sends them to the operator or grants the operator spending rights over the victim's tokens. Because bridging normally involves real deposits and approvals, these prompts look routine, and victims can lose whatever they tried to bridge plus any tokens covered by the approval.

Evidence

Independent detection was thin. Only Gridinsoft flagged the domain among 89 VirusTotal engines in the check dated 2026-09-13, so most security tools would not have warned a visitor. The domain appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers tracked it as part of known malicious activity. The only blocklist carrying it is PhishDestroy's.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com) and hosted on Hostinger's network on an IPv6 address located in France. A cheap shared-hosting setup like this is typical of short-lived phishing pages. It can be launched quickly and abandoned once flagged, which matches this site going dark about eleven days after we first saw it.

What to do

If you connected a wallet to groktrade.org, review your token approvals right away with a reputable approval checker and revoke any unfamiliar spenders. If you signed a transaction you did not fully understand, move your remaining assets to a fresh wallet. Never share a seed phrase with any bridge site. Use the official Arbitrum bridge only by typing its address yourself, not through ads or links. Security teams should block the domain and treat any reappearance of the "Bridge to Arbitrum" lure on new hosts as a continuation of this campaign.
