gfo-block.com is an impersonation phishing page that put the GFO-X name in its title to pass itself off as the genuine brand and lure crypto users. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-13, only two days after the domain was registered. The site has been offline since 2026-09-16 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
The page presents itself as GFO-X, and the domain adds the word "block" to make it look like an official crypto-related address. Impersonation pages like this copy the look of the real service so visitors trust it enough to sign in, connect a wallet or send funds. Anything entered goes to the operators. That can include passwords, one-time codes, recovery phrases, wallet signatures or deposits, and the victim can lose account access and crypto with no way to reverse it.
Evidence
VirusTotal showed 7 of 89 engines flagging the domain as of 2026-09-16, including alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and Sophos. That count is modest, but it comes from seven unrelated vendors reaching the same verdict within days of launch. The domain is also listed on the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in 4 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. Wallet and security communities tracked it independently.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-11 through Cloudflare, Inc. and was in use almost immediately. It was detected within 48 hours and was down five days after registration. A lifespan that short is typical of throwaway phishing domains. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gave the page a padlock, so it looked secure even though it was fraudulent.
What to do
If you signed in on this page, change your GFO-X password and any reused passwords right away. Then reset two-factor authentication and review recent account activity. If you entered a recovery phrase, treat that wallet as compromised and move any remaining assets to a new wallet. If you connected a wallet or signed transactions, revoke token approvals with a reputable approval checker. Do not send any further "fees" or deposits. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting indicators, and search logs for visits after 2026-09-11 to identify affected users.
