fortup.me presents itself as "Star Locker — Fortnite Inventory Checker", a tool that supposedly shows a player's skins and items. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page aimed at Fortnite players and their Epic Games accounts. We first saw it on 2026-10-07. On 2026-10-19 the server was still up, but the domain's DNS was inactive, so the page was not loading. It could return if DNS is restored.
How the scam works
Locker and inventory checkers are a common lure in the Fortnite community. Players who want to show off or value their cosmetics are asked to sign in with their game account so the tool can read their locker. On impersonation pages like this, that sign-in step hands the account login to the operators. A stolen Epic Games account can be locked against its owner, stripped of purchased items, resold, or used to buy in-game currency with saved payment methods.
Evidence
On 2026-10-15, VirusTotal showed 6 of 92 engines flagging the domain: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and SOCRadar. That is a low count, so many browsers and security tools may still let the page through. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as spam, and it appears in 3 AlienVault OTX threat pulses. PhishDestroy also blocklists it.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-06 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com), about a month before we detected it. Short-lived domains set up for a single lure are typical of this kind of phishing. The site is hosted on the M/S ROBI TRADERS network in Turkey. It has a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the browser padlock says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you signed in on fortup.me, change your Epic Games password right away from the official site or launcher. Change it anywhere else you used the same password. Turn on two-factor authentication and sign out all other sessions. Check your account for changed email addresses, unknown purchases or missing items, and contact Epic Games support if anything was altered. Remove saved payment cards if you see charges you did not make. Defenders should block the domain, warn gaming communities that third-party locker checkers asking for a login are a known trap, and report the site to the registrar and hosting provider.
