fortnite-checker.biz poses as a Fortnite account "checker" and targets players who want to value their skins, verify an account before a trade, or claim promised in-game rewards. PhishDestroy classifies it as an impersonation phishing page and first flagged it on 2026-10-06. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving live content.
How the scam works
Fake checker sites invite players to sign in with their Epic Games account so the tool can supposedly scan their locker, V-Bucks or account value. Whatever the visitor types, including their login, password and sometimes a 2FA code, goes to the operators, who can then take over the account, strip its items or resell it. The page title reads only "Loading", a generic placeholder, while our classification is based on the Fortnite impersonation.
Evidence
On 2026-10-10, 11 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain, including alphaMountain.ai, Emsisoft, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft, LevelBlue and Netcraft. That is a modest share of engines, but it is a varied group of independent vendors. Spamhaus lists the domain on its DBL as spam, and four AlienVault OTX pulses reference it, so other researchers are tracking it too. PhishDestroy carries it on its own blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through Dynadot on 2026-09-26, just ten days before we detected it. A short gap like this is typical of throwaway phishing domains. It resolves to 46.29.26.38, an address on a network registered to M/S Robi Traders in Bangladesh, with the server located in Finland. The Let's Encrypt certificate shows a padlock in the browser, which only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about whether the site is honest.
What to do
If you entered your Epic Games credentials here, change your password immediately and update any other account that uses the same password. Turn on or reset two-factor authentication, sign out of all sessions from your Epic account settings, and review any linked consoles or platforms you don't recognise. Check your purchase history and contact Epic Games support if items or V-Bucks are missing. Defenders should block the domain and its IP, watch for logins originating from it, and warn gaming communities and Discord servers where checker links tend to circulate.
