exodus-online.net is an impersonation phishing page dressed up as Exodus, the self-custodial multichain wallet, under the page title "Exodus — Multichain Crypto Wallet". It targets people searching for Exodus or managing an existing Exodus wallet. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-09-27. It went offline on 2026-09-28, its DNS no longer resolves, and it was still dead when rechecked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
The page copies the Exodus name and presentation so a visitor believes they have reached the real wallet site. Fake wallet pages like this usually push one of two traps: a "restore" or "verify" form that asks for the 12-word recovery phrase, or a download that installs a tampered wallet in place of the real app. Because Exodus is self-custodial, whoever holds the recovery phrase controls the funds. A victim who types it in can see the wallet emptied with no way to reverse the transfers.
Evidence
urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and identified Exodus as the imitated brand, which matches our classification. MetaMask's and SEAL's blocklists list the domain alongside PhishDestroy. On VirusTotal, only Gridinsoft and Kaspersky out of 91 engines flagged it on 2026-09-27. That low count is typical for a page only days old, not a sign that it is safe. The domain also appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-09-23 through PDR Ltd. (PublicDomainRegistry.com) and was flagged four days later. It was dead within five days of registration. That short, disposable lifespan is typical of phishing domains that get burned once blocklists catch up. The site was hosted in Germany on the Ultahost, Inc. network, on a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock icon proved nothing about who ran it.
What to do
If you typed your Exodus recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet in the official Exodus app with a fresh phrase, and move any remaining assets to it immediately. If you downloaded anything from the page, uninstall it, scan the device, and reinstall Exodus only from its official site or app store. If you connected a browser wallet, check for and revoke any token approvals you did not intend. Defenders should block the domain, search DNS and proxy logs for visits from 2026-09-23 onward, and watch for look-alike Exodus domains registered through the same pattern.
