elster.de-189980.cc is an impersonation phishing page that presents itself as a Cloudflare security screen under the title "Attention Required! | Cloudflare". Its target is ordinary visitors who are used to clicking through Cloudflare checks without thinking twice. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-10-09. When last checked on 2026-10-19, the site was still alive, and its content was reachable but sitting behind protection.
How the scam works
Fake Cloudflare challenge pages exploit a habit. People see "Attention Required!" so often on legitimate sites that they rarely question what the page asks them to do next. In schemes of this type, the counterfeit check pushes visitors toward an action dressed up as verification. That can mean entering login details, approving a prompt or following on-screen instructions that lead to account takeover or malware on the device. The hostname is also built to open with "elster.de", which gives the address a misleading look of legitimacy before the visitor reaches the Cloudflare-styled screen.
Evidence
Fifteen of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-10-09, the same day PhishDestroy picked it up. The flagging vendors include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, CRDF, CyRadar, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet and G-Data. That is broad agreement from well-established engines for a domain only a day old. Spamhaus lists it in its Domain Block List with a spam classification, and it is on the PhishDestroy blocklist.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered on 2026-10-08 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED and was caught the following day. That one-day gap points to a short-lived, quickly deployed throwaway. Traffic runs through Cloudflare's own network in the US, so the page imitating a Cloudflare check is itself served via Cloudflare. It also uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, which means the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.
What to do
If you typed a username, password or tax portal login on this page, change that password immediately, starting with any account that reuses it. Turn on two-factor authentication and review recent sign-ins for activity you don't recognise. If the page told you to run a command, download a file or paste anything into a system window, disconnect the device from the network and run a full scan with up-to-date security software.
