PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

drexelglobal.com presents itself as "DexelGlobal," an online venue promising "a Wealth of Trading Opportunities," so it is aimed at people looking for somewhere to trade or invest. The branding in the page title drops the "r" from the domain name, so the site and its address do not quite agree. PhishDestroy first flagged the domain on 2026-09-17 and added it to our blocklist. It was still online and serving content on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

We have not yet assigned this domain a specific scheme classification. What the page shows is a pitch for trading opportunities from a newly created platform with no established reputation. That is the kind of front where visitors are encouraged to open an account and fund it. The main risk is handing over deposits, personal details or identity documents to an operator you cannot verify. If the platform later refuses to release funds or demands extra payments before a withdrawal, that money is likely gone.

Evidence

Independent detection is thin so far. On 2026-10-01, three of 91 VirusTotal engines (CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker and SOCRadar) rated the domain malicious. That is a low count, but three unrelated vendors arriving at the same verdict is more than noise. The domain also appears in five AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which means other researchers have tied it to tracked activity. PhishDestroy is currently the only blocklist on record listing it.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-11 through TuringSign Inc. d/b/a Cosmotown, just 37 days before we flagged it. A trading platform that is barely a month old has no track record to back its promises. The site runs on a Contabo GmbH server at 13.140.180.106 in France, a rented hosting setup that is quick to start and easy to drop. Its Let's Encrypt certificate only encrypts the connection and says nothing about who runs the platform.

What to do

Do not open an account or send money to drexelglobal.com. If you have already deposited, stop all further payments, including any "fees" or "taxes" requested to unlock a withdrawal. Contact your bank or card issuer, and save receipts and chat logs for a fraud report. If you uploaded ID documents or reused a password there, watch for identity misuse and change that password wherever else you use it. Defenders should block the domain and its IP at the proxy and DNS level and watch for lookalike "DexelGlobal" domains.
