PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

disneycruiseinc.com posed as Disney Cruise Line under the page title "Disney Cruise Line – Explore Unforgettable Cruise Adventures". It targeted families and travelers shopping for cruise vacations. The domain itself is a giveaway: Disney Cruise Line does not trade as "disneycruiseinc". PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-04. The site went offline on 2026-09-29, and as of 2026-10-19 its DNS no longer resolves.

How the scam works

Fake cruise-line sites copy the brand's look and promise attractive sailings or limited-time deals. They then push visitors toward a booking or reservation form. That form usually asks for full names, contact details, passport or identity information and card details, sometimes framed as a deposit to hold a cabin. Victims lose the money they pay for a voyage that does not exist. Their personal and payment data can also be reused for further fraud or follow-up scams by phone or email.

Evidence

The classification is backed by independent security vendors. Nine of 89 engines on VirusTotal flagged the domain as of 2026-09-16, including Kaspersky, BitDefender, G-Data, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, alphaMountain.ai, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and the brand-protection firm PhishFort. That is a modest share of engines, but the list includes established antivirus vendors and a specialist in brand impersonation. The domain also appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers tracked it independently. It is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC. The site was served from 185.199.109.153 on Fastly, Inc.'s network in the United States, a content-delivery platform that lets a cheap lookalike load quickly and look professional. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gave it the padlock icon, which shows only that the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you booked or paid on this site, contact your card issuer or bank right away. Dispute the charge and ask for a replacement card. If you shared passport or ID details, watch for identity misuse and consider a fraud alert with your credit bureaus. Be wary of follow-up calls or emails that mention your "reservation". Book Disney cruises only through Disney's official channels or a verified travel agent. Defenders should block the domain, search mail and proxy logs for past visits, and report any similar lookalike cruise domains to PhishDestroy.
