AI-assisted evidence review
d2cx10dsi4ptcz.cloudfront.net was an impersonation phishing page served from a randomly named Amazon CloudFront address and dressed up as a "Service Health" status page. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-12. It went offline on 2026-09-20 and was still unreachable when last checked on 2026-10-19.
A page titled "Service Health" plays on the urgency of an outage or account problem. Victims arrive through a link in an email, chat message or ad and are told a service they rely on needs attention. The page then asks them to sign in, verify their account or confirm details, and whatever they type goes to the operator rather than the real service. The cloudfront.net address lends borrowed credibility because many people recognize it as Amazon infrastructure. Victims lose account credentials, and often the session access or personal data that comes with them.
When VirusTotal checked the page on 2026-09-19, 10 of 89 engines flagged it. The named vendors include alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Google Safe Browsing, Kaspersky, Lionic, MalwareURL and Sophos. Google Safe Browsing classified it as SOCIAL_ENGINEERING, its category for deceptive phishing pages, so Chrome and other browsers using that feed would have shown a warning. PhishDestroy also lists it on its own blocklist.
The 2008-04-25 registration date and the MarkMonitor registrar belong to Amazon's cloudfront.net parent domain, not to the scammer. The operator only had to create a CloudFront distribution, which yields an instant, disposable subdomain on a trusted name. Traffic resolved to Amazon's AMAZON-02 network through an edge location in Germany. The padlock came from Amazon's own certificate (Amazon RSA 2048 M04), which CloudFront applies automatically, so HTTPS here says nothing about who ran the page. The page went offline eight days after PhishDestroy flagged it, a short lifespan typical of throwaway phishing deployments.
If you entered a password on this page, change it immediately on the genuine service and on any other account that reuses it. Turn on two-factor authentication, preferably app- or key-based, and review recent logins, active sessions and recovery email or phone settings for changes you did not make. If you submitted personal or payment details, alert your bank and watch for follow-up phishing that uses what you shared. Defenders should block this hostname, search mail and proxy logs for visits between 2026-09-12 and 2026-09-20, and treat unfamiliar CloudFront subdomains in inbound links as suspicious instead of trusting the Amazon name.
