How the scam works
The page is titled "CryptoTrustWallet.com | Crypto Wallets | Web3 Wallets | Wallet Tools". That framing presents it as a general wallet-tools hub, while we classify it as an impersonation of Trust Wallet. Pages like this use a familiar brand to win trust, then steer visitors to "restore", "validate" or "sync" their wallet. That step usually means typing in a 12- or 24-word recovery phrase or connecting the wallet and signing a transaction. A recovery phrase gives the operator full control of every asset in the wallet. A malicious signature can hand over token approvals that let them drain balances later.
Evidence
Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-03: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and URLQuery. That count is modest, so many browsers and filters will still let the page load without a warning. The stronger signal comes from crypto-specific sources. The domain appears on the MetaMask, SEAL and PhishFeed blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and it is referenced in three AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2021-12-22, nearly five years before PhishDestroy detected it. An older domain like this can slip past filters that treat newly registered names with suspicion. The site sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the real origin server from visitors. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser says nothing about who runs the site.
What to do
If you typed your recovery phrase into this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase on a trusted device and move any remaining funds there immediately. If you only connected a wallet or signed something, use a token-approval checker to review and revoke approvals granted around the time of your visit. Trust Wallet never asks for your recovery phrase through a website, so any page that does should be treated as theft. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and add it to wallet and browser protection lists. Abuse reports to Cloudflare and GoDaddy can help get the site taken down.
