Its domain name mixes "claude", "desk" and "code" to catch people searching for the Claude desktop app or Claude's coding tools. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-07. As of 2026-10-19 the site is still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Fake download pages for popular AI assistants lure visitors from search ads, social posts or lookalike links. They then offer an "installer" or ask for a sign-in, so the victim either runs software that did not come from Anthropic or hands over account credentials. Installers pushed this way commonly carry info-stealing malware that collects saved browser passwords, session cookies, API keys and locally stored crypto wallet data. Because the page copies Anthropic's branding and wording, the deception rests almost entirely on the visitor trusting the familiar Claude name.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Namecheap on 2026-09-28, nine days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap fits a site built for a quick campaign rather than a long-standing project. It sits behind Cloudflare's network in the US, which hides the real origin server from public view. Its Let's Encrypt certificate gives the page a browser padlock, but the padlock only means the connection is encrypted and says nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you downloaded and ran anything from this site, disconnect the machine and run a full malware scan. Treat the device as compromised until it is cleaned or reinstalled. From a clean device, change your important passwords, sign out of active sessions, rotate any API keys or tokens stored on the affected computer, and move crypto out of any wallet kept on it. If you entered Anthropic or other login details, change that password and turn on two-factor authentication.
