cadeau-evenement.info poses as an official Dofus Retro news page titled "DOFUS RETRO : Arcade d'Ivorielle - Info - Actualités". It targets French-speaking players of the game. The domain name itself means "event gift", which signals the lure. PhishDestroy first saw it on 2026-10-04, and it was still alive on 2026-10-19, now serving a redirect.

How the scam works

The page copies the look of a game news post and announces an "Arcade d'Ivorielle" event. It promises a reward to players who claim it. To collect the supposed gift, the visitor is pushed to sign in with their game account details on a page the attackers control. Those credentials let the operators take over the account and strip it of characters, items and in-game currency. They can also resell the account or reuse the password elsewhere. The redirect means the visible entry point may forward victims to a separate login step.

Evidence

On 2026-10-09, 6 of 92 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a low count, typical for narrowly targeted gaming phishing that most generic scanners never encounter. The fact that several unrelated vendors converged on it still supports the verdict. Two AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference the domain, and it is listed on the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Dynadot Inc on 2025-12-07, roughly ten months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap suggests it was either held in reserve or rotated in for this particular event lure. It is hosted on the ULTAHOST-AS network of Ultahost, Inc., with the server located in Germany.
