PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

bypatents.com served a fraudulent online slot gambling site branded HADIAH138, with an Indonesian-language page inviting visitors to download a free slot APK billed as the best and most trusted available. Its audience is Indonesian-speaking mobile gamblers looking for slot apps outside official app stores. PhishDestroy first saw the domain on 2026-09-27. The site has been offline since 2026-10-08, and on the last check (2026-10-19) it no longer served any threatening content.

How the scam works

Sites like HADIAH138 lure players with promises of a trustworthy slot platform and an easy APK download, which bypasses app-store review entirely. Players are then pushed to deposit money into a gambling account, usually through bank transfer or e-wallets, where games and payouts are controlled by the operator. Winnings tend to be blocked, delayed or tied to further deposits and invented fees, so victims lose their deposits and anything they were told they had won. The sideloaded APK adds a second risk, since an unvetted app can request intrusive permissions on the phone.

Evidence

Five of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-06: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft and SOCRadar. That is a modest count, but it comes from several independent vendors and matches how gambling-fraud domains are typically scored. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as a spam domain, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses, which shows other researchers tracked it too. PhishDestroy carries it on our blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2026-04-12, roughly five and a half months before we detected it. That gap suggests a domain registered in advance and only later put to use for gambling promotion. The domain name itself has nothing to do with gambling. The site was hosted on the Trunk Networks LTD network in Singapore.

What to do

If you installed the HADIAH138 APK from this site, uninstall it, review which permissions it had, and run a mobile security scan. If you deposited money, stop sending funds and refuse any request to pay a fee or tax to unlock a withdrawal. Contact your bank or e-wallet provider about the transfers, and treat any recovery service that contacts you afterwards as a likely follow-up scam. Defenders should block the domain, enforce Spamhaus DBL listings at mail and DNS layers, and watch for the HADIAH138 brand appearing on newly registered domains.
