PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

arunacoin.com is an impersonation phishing page built to look like a legitimate coin project's purchase site. It targets crypto users who think they are buying a token from an official source. PhishDestroy first detected it on 2026-10-16, and the site was still online with its content live on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

The page carries the title "Buy", which fits the classic impersonation storefront. Visitors are invited to purchase a token and are then asked to send funds, connect a wallet or enter account details on what looks like an official project page. Because the site only pretends to be the real project, any payment goes straight to the operators and nothing of value comes back. Any recovery phrase or credentials typed into the page give the operators direct control of the victim's assets.

Evidence

Several independent sources back the classification. MetaMask and the SEAL security alliance both list the domain on their blocklists alongside PhishDestroy, and Spamhaus DBL lists it as phishing (DBL_PHISH). Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it. On VirusTotal, only 2 of 92 engines flagged it on 2026-10-16 (Fortinet and Gridinsoft), so low antivirus coverage should not be read as a sign that the site is safe.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-08-26 through NICENIC INTERNATIONAL GROUP CO., LIMITED, less than two months before PhishDestroy detected it. It resolves to 188.114.96.3 on Cloudflare's network (CLOUDFLARENET) in the US, which hides the origin server behind a shared proxy. Its TLS certificate was issued by Google Trust Services (WE1), so the padlock in the browser says nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

Do not buy anything, connect a wallet or enter any details on arunacoin.com. If you sent funds there, record the transaction details and report them to your exchange or wallet provider right away. If you typed a recovery phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and move any remaining assets to a newly created wallet. If you reused a password there, change it everywhere you used it.
