app-marinade.pages.dev is a phishing page posing as Marinade, the Solana liquid-staking protocol. The 'app-' prefix mimics the address pattern of a real dApp front end, which targets people who want to stake SOL or manage their Marinade positions. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-08-28. The site has been offline since 2026-09-07 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Fake staking front ends copy the look of the real app and then ask the visitor to connect a wallet. The connection is not the theft. The damage comes when the victim approves a transaction or signature that is presented as a stake, unstake or reward claim but actually transfers SOL, mSOL or other tokens to the attacker. Some clones also show a 'wallet sync' or 'restore' prompt that asks for the recovery phrase, which gives the attacker the entire wallet. The page title only repeated the domain name and showed no Marinade branding, while we classified the site by its impersonation of Marinade.
Evidence
The strongest backing comes from crypto-specific blocklists. Besides PhishDestroy, the domain is listed by MetaMask and by SEAL, two independent sources that track wallet-targeting phishing. VirusTotal tells a different story: 0 of 89 engines flagged it on 2026-09-08. That scan ran one day after the site went offline, so the clean result reflects an unreachable page and does not clear it.
Infrastructure
The site ran on Cloudflare Pages as a free subdomain under pages.dev. That setup costs the operator nothing, deploys in minutes and borrows the reputation of a shared platform domain. The registration date is 2025-08-14, roughly a year before PhishDestroy detected the page. It was served from Cloudflare's network with a Canadian geolocation, and it stayed live for only about ten days after detection.
What to do
If you connected a wallet to this site, check your Solana wallet's recent activity for transactions you did not intend. Revoke any token delegations or approvals you granted while connected. If you typed your recovery phrase anywhere on the page, treat the wallet as compromised: create a new wallet with a fresh phrase and move any remaining SOL, mSOL and other tokens to it immediately. In the future, reach Marinade only through a bookmarked official address, not search ads or links in chats. Defenders should block the domain and watch for similar 'marinade' names on pages.dev and other free hosting platforms.
