How the scam works

Wallet drainers lure victims with promises of passive income or yield on crypto assets, then prompt them to connect their Web3 wallet and sign one or more transactions. Those transactions, often disguised as routine approvals or deposits, grant the attacker permission to transfer tokens out of the victim's wallet automatically. In this case the bait was stablecoin yield, a credible hook designed to attract holders of assets like USDC or USDT who believe they are entering a legitimate DeFi protocol.
