How the scam works
Pages like this copy the look of a legitimate extension listing and push the visitor toward an "Add to Chrome" button. That button can lead to a rogue extension or a lookalike download. A malicious extension gets broad access to the browser, so it can read and alter pages, capture what you type, and tamper with wallet sites or copied addresses. The victim believes they are blocking ads but has given an impostor ongoing access to their browsing, logins and possibly their crypto.
