account-issues.net is a credential phishing page that imitates a Microsoft sign-in to harvest the logins of Microsoft account holders. The domain name is bait: "account issues" suggests a problem only a quick login can fix. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-17, and the site was still live and reachable on 2026-10-19.
How the scam works
Victims usually arrive from an email or text warning of a locked, suspended or compromised Microsoft account, with a link promising a fix. The page, titled simply "Login", copies Microsoft's sign-in flow and asks for an email address and password, sometimes followed by a one-time code. Whatever is typed goes straight to the operators, who can then take over the mailbox, OneDrive files, Teams and any other service tied to that Microsoft identity. A hijacked work account is often used next for internal phishing or invoice fraud.
Evidence
On 2026-09-19, 7 of 89 VirusTotal engines classed the domain as malicious: ADMINUSLabs, alphaMountain.ai, Chong Lua Dao, ESET, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and Webroot. That is a modest count, but the vendors are unrelated to one another and they agree. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict and independently detected Microsoft branding on the page, matching our classification. The domain also appears in 6 AlienVault OTX threat pulses, so other researchers are tracking it too.
Infrastructure
The domain was registered through GoDaddy.com, LLC on 2019-03-13, more than seven years before PhishDestroy detected it. An older domain like this can carry a cleaner reputation than a fresh registration and slip past filters that weigh domain age. It resolves to 3.145.232.22, hosted in the United States. Its certificate comes from Let's Encrypt, so the browser padlock only means the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site.
What to do
If you entered your Microsoft credentials here, change your password immediately from the official Microsoft account page you navigate to yourself. Then sign out of all sessions and turn on or re-enroll multi-factor authentication. Review recent sign-in activity, mail forwarding rules and recovery details, because attackers often change these to keep access. Change the password anywhere else you reused it. Organizations should block the domain at the email gateway, proxy and DNS layers, search mail logs for messages linking to it, and force credential resets for any user who clicked through.
