Overview

veminex.com presents itself as "Veminex: Elon Musk's Official Crypto Casino Powered by Blockchain," borrowing Musk's name to look endorsed and trustworthy. It targets cryptocurrency holders who might believe a celebrity-backed gambling platform is giving away easy winnings. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-05. As of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its scam content.

How the scam works

The site runs on the Gambler Scam kit, a template for fake online casinos. These sites usually spread through promo codes in fake celebrity posts, videos or direct messages. The victim signs up, enters the code, and sees a generous bonus balance or a string of easy wins. When they try to cash out, the site says they must first make a crypto deposit to "verify" or "activate" withdrawals. Every deposit goes straight to the operators, the displayed balance is fake, and the promised payout never comes.

Evidence

On 2026-09-11, 13 of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain. Those engines include alphaMountain.ai, BitDefender, ESET, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, G-Data, Gridinsoft and Kaspersky. urlscan.io rated the page malicious and matched it to generic crypto and crypto-scam patterns. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, and the MetaMask and SEAL blocklists also carry it alongside PhishDestroy. Four AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it, so other researchers have independently tracked the same operation.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered on 2026-05-10 through Fewmoretaps OU d/b/a Trustname.com, about four months before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits an operation that registers domains ahead of time and launches them when a promotion campaign starts. The site sits behind Cloudflare, with the visible address geolocated to Canada, so the real origin server is hidden. A free Let's Encrypt certificate gives it the browser padlock, which proves nothing about whether the site is legitimate.

What to do

Do not deposit anything to unlock a bonus or withdrawal on veminex.com. No legitimate casino requires a deposit to release winnings, and Elon Musk does not run a crypto casino. If you already sent funds, stop sending more and record the transaction hashes and receiving addresses. Report the theft to your exchange and to local police, and expect follow-up "recovery service" offers to be scams too. If you reused a password when signing up, change it everywhere you used it. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and proxy level and watch for related Gambler Scam domains using celebrity casino branding.
