PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

velnorabnk.ltd is an impersonation phishing page dressed as a bank called Velnora. Its homepage carries the title "Home - Velnora", and the domain itself abbreviates "bank" to look like an official address. It targets people who believe they are dealing with a legitimate bank and are willing to hand over login details or money. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-06, and as of 2026-10-19 the site was still online and serving its content.

How the scam works

Fake bank sites copy the look of a real institution's homepage, with account login, signup forms and promises of transfers or high-yield savings. Visitors who sign in give away usernames, passwords and often one-time codes, which are then used against real accounts. Visitors who "open an account" may be asked to deposit funds or pay fees that never come back. urlscan.io classified the page as a generic banking lure, which matches this pattern.

Evidence

On 2026-10-06, VirusTotal showed 9 of 92 engines flagging the domain, including BitDefender, ESET, Fortinet, G-Data, Netcraft, alphaMountain.ai, CRDF and Gridinsoft. That count is modest, but the vendors are well established and agree with one another. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, which affects mail filtering across many networks, and it appears in two AlienVault OTX threat pulses alongside the PhishDestroy blocklist.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Sav.com, LLC on 2026-09-29, just seven days before PhishDestroy detected it. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a single campaign. The site runs on the Ultahost, Inc. network, with the server located in Germany. It uses a free Let's Encrypt certificate, so the padlock in the browser proves only that the connection is encrypted. It says nothing about who runs the site.

What to do

If you entered a username, password or verification code on this site, change that password immediately, along with any account that reuses it, and reset two-factor authentication. Contact your real bank through the number on your card if you shared card or account details, and ask it to watch for or block suspicious transfers. If you sent money as a deposit or fee, report it to your bank and to police right away, and do not pay any further "release" charges. Security teams should block the domain at DNS and mail gateways and flag Velnora-themed messages for review.

How do phishing scams typically work?
