PhishDestroy threat report
v2-rhino.io is an impersonation phishing domain that borrows the Rhino name and adds a 'v2' prefix, a common trick to pass as a new or upgraded version of a crypto service. Its targets are crypto users who might believe they are visiting an official release. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-13. The site has been offline since 2026-09-24, and its DNS was still inactive at the last check on 2026-10-19.
Fake 'v2' sites tell visitors that a service has migrated and that they must reconnect, migrate funds or claim something on the new version. The victim is then pushed to connect a wallet and sign transactions or approvals, or to type in a seed phrase. Any of these can hand control of their assets to the operator. When last served, the page showed the title '502 — Site temporarily unavailable', an error screen rather than a branded page, while our classification remains impersonation phishing.
VirusTotal shows 6 of 89 engines flagging the domain as of 2026-09-21: alphaMountain.ai, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, Fortinet, Gridinsoft, SOCRadar and Sophos. That count is modest, but other sources back it strongly. MetaMask's blocklist and SEAL both list the domain, so the crypto security community has confirmed it. Spamhaus classifies it as DBL_PHISH, and it appears in 8 AlienVault OTX threat pulses.
The domain was registered on 2026-08-07 through Hosting Concepts B.V. d/b/a Registrar.eu, about five weeks before PhishDestroy detected it. That gap fits a domain bought specifically for a campaign and put into use shortly afterward. It was hosted on the Omegatech LTD network in the United Kingdom. It went dark only eleven days after first detection, a short lifespan typical of disposable phishing domains.
If you connected a wallet to v2-rhino.io, use a revocation tool to review and revoke any token approvals or permissions you granted there. Move remaining funds to a fresh wallet if you signed anything you did not fully understand. If you typed in a seed phrase or private key, treat that wallet as compromised and transfer assets immediately to a new one created from a new seed. Reach Rhino only through bookmarked or officially published channels, never through 'v2' links sent by others. Defenders should block the domain and its hosting address, and watch for look-alike 'v2' or migration-themed domains using the same brand.

An estimated time describes an observation window. It does not prove a registrar action or the exact moment a site became unavailable.
Dated changes retained by the monitor and source collectors. Newest observations appear first; source states are not proof of a takedown.
