PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

usdt-trustwallet.app is a phishing page that impersonates Trust Wallet and goes after people holding USDT, the Tether stablecoin. The domain pairs the token name with the wallet brand, and the page itself is titled "SEND USDT". PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-10-04. On 2026-10-19 the site was still listed as alive, but its DNS was not serving content, so it may fail to load for now while the domain remains registered and could be reactivated.

How the scam works

A page titled "SEND USDT" under a Trust Wallet name is built to look like an official transfer or verification screen, steering the visitor into a wallet action. Schemes of this type typically ask the user to connect their wallet and approve a USDT spending permission or sign a transfer, which lets the operator pull the tokens. Others ask the user to type in a recovery phrase, which hands over the whole wallet. In either case the victim loses the USDT, and possibly everything else held in that wallet.

Evidence

Six of 91 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain as of 2026-10-06: alphaMountain.ai, CRDF, Fortinet, Kaspersky, LevelBlue and PhishFort. That count is modest, but it includes a crypto-focused anti-phishing vendor. urlscan.io returned a malicious verdict. Its brand detection matched Trezor rather than Trust Wallet, while we classify the page as Trust Wallet impersonation based on its domain and branding. Spamhaus lists the domain in its DBL as phishing, MetaMask and SEAL block it alongside PhishDestroy, and it appears in four AlienVault OTX threat pulses.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Name.com, Inc. on 2026-10-02 and was caught just two days later. That short gap is typical of throwaway phishing domains set up for a quick campaign. It is hosted on Amazon.com, Inc. infrastructure in the United States. The Let's Encrypt certificate means the padlock in the browser shows only that the connection is encrypted, not that the site is genuine.

What to do

If you connected a wallet here or signed anything, revoke the USDT token approvals granted to unfamiliar addresses using a reputable approval-checking tool, and send the remaining funds to a wallet you control. If you entered your recovery phrase, consider the wallet compromised and move all assets to a new wallet with a freshly generated phrase immediately. Trust Wallet never asks for your phrase on a website. Defenders should block the domain at DNS and web proxy level, and watch for similar lookalikes that combine USDT with the Trust Wallet name.
