PhishDestroy threat report

Overview

trustwallet-cn.com is an impersonation phishing site that borrows the Trust Wallet name. The "-cn" suffix suggests it was pitched as a regional or Chinese-language version of the wallet. PhishDestroy first flagged it on 2026-09-23. The site has been offline since 2026-09-29 and was still dead when last checked on 2026-10-19.

How the scam works

Trust Wallet impersonation pages usually pose as an official support, upgrade or verification portal. They push the visitor to type in their 12- or 24-word recovery phrase or private key, or to connect the wallet and sign a request. Whoever holds that phrase controls the wallet outright, so victims typically lose every asset in it within minutes, and the transfers cannot be reversed. The page carried the Traditional Chinese title "數字民生網" (roughly "Digital Livelihood Network"), which does not reference Trust Wallet, while we classified the domain as a Trust Wallet impersonation.

Evidence

Ten of 89 VirusTotal engines flagged the domain on 2026-09-23, the same day PhishDestroy listed it. The flagging engines include BitDefender, ESET, Sophos, Fortinet, Forcepoint ThreatSeeker, G-Data, Lionic and alphaMountain.ai. MetaMask's blocklist also carries it, so MetaMask users get a warning before the page loads. Spamhaus lists it in its domain blocklist under the phishing category. Three AlienVault OTX threat pulses reference it as well.

Infrastructure

The domain was registered through Gname.com Pte. Ltd. on 2026-01-12, roughly eight months before it was detected. That gap points to a domain held in reserve or run quietly for some time rather than one used and dropped. Traffic was served through Cloudflare's network, geolocated to Canada, which hides the real origin server. The Google Trust Services certificate gave the page a normal browser padlock, a reminder that HTTPS shows nothing about a site's honesty.

What to do

If you entered your recovery phrase or private key on this site, treat the wallet as compromised. Create a new wallet with a fresh phrase and move any remaining funds to it immediately. If you only connected a wallet or signed something, review and revoke token approvals from a trusted approval-checker, and watch the address for unexpected transfers. Trust Wallet never asks for your recovery phrase, so any page that does is a scam. Defenders should keep the domain blocked even while it is down, because dormant phishing domains are often brought back. They should also check DNS and proxy logs for past visits from users who may have exposed wallets.
